ABOUT THE JOB:
Join Anduril AIRS (American Infrared Solutions), a leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance cooled infrared cameras and components. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and development of advanced complex electro-mechanical systems, structural components, and electronic packaging. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own hardware from concept generation to real-world use.
Utilize first principles physics as a basis for all decisions.
Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.
Contribute to the development of new optical systems by assisting in design and implementation efforts.
Design and document fixturing for prototyping and production efforts.
Create and maintain manufacturing and process documentation to support efficient workflow.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in mechanical design, hardware development, or integrated product development and testing, ideally with complex electro-mechanical systems.
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo) and a willingness to quickly adapt to new tools.
Demonstrated ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
Experience with thermal and structural analysis (e.g., FEA) for robust design validation.
Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors, etc.).
Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
US Salary Range
$85,000
$112,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
