The Opportunity The workspaces team is responsible for establishing workspaces as a source of truth in Postman. Workspaces are the core of our Postman API Platform and are responsible for enabling seamless API collaboration. With more than 45M users on our platform, this team is responsible for solving challenges in API collaboration across multiple pillars like API development, testing, prototyping, discovery, distribution change management. The team owns tier-0/1 business critical systems handling ~21M requests on a daily basis and this will just continue to grow. The work of this team directly impacts Postman’s end users, experience and business in multiple ways thereby contributing towards our larger organization goals like Monthly Active Users, Self-serve revenue Sales-serve revenue. We are looking for an experienced engineer who will help in taking workspaces to the next level. This person will lead a key set of initiatives that needs close working with the community, product and business stakeholders to improve the end user experience, constantly striving towards excellence to establish Postman as the best tool for API collaboration. Apart from this, he/she would oversee the complete technical landscape to deliver the best integrated product experience for our Postman users, own drive the engineering/technical strategy for the team to not just meet product requirements but help it scale for next 2-5 years by having futuristic lenses. What You’ll Do Shape the Future of APIs: Contribute to the development of cutting-edge APIs and products in collaboration with a dynamic, cross-functional team that includes Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers specializing in Support, Quality, Security, and Platform. Innovate Through Prototypes: Rapidly construct functional prototypes to address both internal and external use-cases, driving our product’s evolution. Lead Mentor: Offer technical leadership and mentorship to your fellow engineers, sharing best practices and elevating our collective expertise. Shape Our Path: Be an integral contributor to roadmap planning, coordinating with all stakeholders to align our products with strategic goals. Own Systems Architecting: Lead the architecting and design of collection systems, partnering with stakeholders to ensure robust functionality and strategic integration. Enhance System Maturity: Take ownership of the maturation of existing systems, defining initiatives to enhance functionality, reliability, and performance. Drive Architectural Evolution: Identify and champion initiatives that drive architectural improvement and innovation. About You Cloud and Distributed Systems Expert: You bring experience with cloud computing and distributed systems, having worked on customer-facing systems at scale. Data Management Maestro: Your knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles is solid.
