Job Description

An 8-figure U.S. e-commerce brand specializing in men’s wallets and travel accessories is seeking a Staff Accountant / Financial Analyst to support the CFO across accounting operations, financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights. This hybrid role involves approximately 20–25% accounting and 75–80% financial analysis/FP&A, with accounting responsibilities expected to decrease to 5–10% over time through automation (AI). Ideal Candidate Profile: • Hungry, humble, analytical, adaptable, and highly coachable • Long-term growth potential as a key strategic partner to the CFO • Ability to follow detailed accounting processes and conduct open-ended analysis • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills Responsibilities: Accounting (20–25%, decreasing over time): • Support month-end close in an accrual (GAAP) environment • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and roll-forward schedules • Assist with revenue recognition across Shopify, Amazon, and other e-commerce platforms • Support COGS, inventory analysis, and intercompany reconciliations • Maintain organized accounting documentation and workpapers • (Preferred) Assist with U.S. sales tax filings across 47 states Financial Analysis & FP&A (Primary Focus): • Provide monthly P&L reporting, KPI tracking, and variance analysis • Build and maintain financial models, rolling forecasts, and dashboards • Analyze marketing spend, contribution margins, operational performance, and inventory forecasting • Support cash flow planning and working capital optimization • Conduct scenario analysis, trend identification, and deep-dive analytics • Translate raw, unstructured data into insights independently (critical requirement) Partnership & Growth: • Work directly with the CFO daily; minimal broader company interaction • Engage in automation opportunities leveraging AI to reduce manual workloads • Participate in selecting, testing, and implementing financial tools and process improvements Skills and Qualifications: • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or FP&A (not entry-level) • Strong understanding of accrual/GAAP accounting with emphasis on understanding the rationale behind accruals • Experience with e-commerce business models preferred (Shopify, Amazon, inventory, COGS) • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling • Proficient with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, SUMIF, COUNTIF, data aggregation) • Ability to work Eastern Time hours (8 AM–4 PM) • Professional English proficiency (written and verbal) Additional Skills: • Financial modeling, forecasting & budgeting • Data analysis & business intelligence (Power BI a plus) • U.S. sales tax knowledge (preferred) • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities • Coachable, eager to learn, and growth-oriented • Strong attention to detail • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership (CFO) #SolvoGlobal #LI-PROMOTED #LI-Remote
