About the role Tint is seeking a Head of Pet Insurance Programs to lead the strategy, development, and growth of insurance solutions serving the pet insurance market, including coverage for dogs, cats, and other companion animals. This leader will own the design and scaling of insurance programs tailored to pet owners, employers, and pet-focused platforms. A core focus of this role is building and scaling embedded insurance solutions, partnering with digital platforms, veterinary networks, employers, and pet care ecosystems to seamlessly integrate insurance into the customer experience. Working closely with insurance carriers, brokers, and internal product and operations teams, you will architect innovative insurance offerings that address the unique risks and needs of pet health, including illness, injury, preventive care, and rising veterinary costs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pet insurance, accident health, or personal lines insurance, along with experience designing and launching insurance programs—ideally in embedded or digital distribution models—in partnership with carriers and platform partners. This role is highly strategic and requires both insurance domain expertise and the ability to build and scale new market opportunities. What you will do Lead Pet Insurance Strategy: Define and execute Tint’s insurance strategy for the pet insurance vertical, identifying market opportunities and developing scalable insurance solutions for pet owners, employers, and pet-focused platforms. Design and Launch Insurance Programs: Lead the design and launch of insurance programs for the pet insurance market, including: Program structure and architecture Underwriting guidelines and eligibility criteria (e.g., breed, age, pre-existing conditions, lifestyle) Pricing and risk segmentation strategies Policy forms, filings, and regulatory compliance Build Carrier and Capacity Partnerships: Develop and manage strategic relationships with insurance carriers, MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers to secure sustainable capacity and competitive program structures for pet insurance risks. Expand Tint’s Presence in the Pet Ecosystem: Build relationships with pet care platforms, veterinary networks, employers, breeders, and retailers to grow Tint’s customer base and develop embedded insurance opportunities. Monitor Program Performance: Evaluate program performance across underwriting results, claims trends (e.g., illness, injury, chronic conditions), and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to optimize profitability, risk management, and customer value. Serve as Industry Subject Matter Expert: Act as Tint’s internal and external expert on the pet insurance market, monitoring cost trends, regulatory developments, emerging care models, and evolving customer expectations. Represent Tint in the Market: Engage with carriers, brokers, pet industry partners, and associations to position Tint as a leader in innovative insurance solutions for the pet insurance industry.
