We deliver hundreds and millions of push notifications and emails to Reddit users every day. We are solving both product and engineering problems for a fun magnitude of scale . We are hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to serve as Tech Lead for a cross-platform team to help us bring Reddit to more people. This Senior Fullstack Engineer role will be 70% backend and 30% frontend.</p> <h3>What You’ll Do:</h3> <ul> <li><em>Build with Impact</em>: build across the stack fun product experiences across notifications, email and inbox for hundreds of millions of users around the world</li> <li><em>Collaborate with a talented team of engineers </em>within your direct team and across the company, also work with XFN partners in Product, Data Science, Machine Learning and Design</li> <li><em>Be a multiplier: </em>mentor and coach other engineers </li> <li><em>Be a thought leader </em>and contribute to both our product and technical strategy</li> </ul> <h3>You Have:</h3> <ul> <li>8+ years software engineering experience, with experience in working cross-functionally to lead projects from start to finish with end user impact. <ul> <li>We are language agnostic when hiring but use primarily golang, python in the backend stack; typescript on web</li> <li>We are looking for someone who has roughly equal experience both on: a web platform and a distributed backend service stack</li> <li>Experience with GraphQL, gRPC and the ability to design and implement robust APIs</li> </ul> </li> <li>A past track record of<strong> Quality</strong>, for example: <ul> <li>Enabling a testing culture, such as unit testing, setting up load testing framework, enabling local testing or other automated testing. </li> <li>Structurally improving the resiliency and fault tolerance of systems or code</li> <li>Performance tuning database queries or network calls</li> <li>Experience with fullstack designs that cover across native and web concerns</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Collaboration skills</strong>: You work well with a team, but also help level-up those around you. <ul> <li>You may demonstrate skills in one or more of the following: writte ...
