Technical Consultant (TC) Opportunity Want to learn about biometric verification and work with the latest generation of smartphone technologies? Daon is an innovative provider of award-winning biometric identity assurance software products and services, supporting governments and large commercial organisations worldwide. We are looking for a Technical Consultant who is eager to grow their skills while contributing to enterprise web solutions based on the Daon technology stack. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra. You will support the implementation of TrustX and IdentityX solutions and work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful deployment of Daon technologies. The successful candidate will be: Comfortable working under the guidance of a Project Manager and/or senior team members Interested in building experience in scalable web-based solutions across mobile and desktop Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Keen to learn and support customers in deploying and integrating TrustX and IdentityX solutions Key Role Responsibilities: Support development activities (coding, testing, troubleshooting) across backend technologies such as Java, Python, and REST APIs Assist in translating customer requirements into technical solutions with guidance from senior team members Contribute to documentation of designs, configurations, and implementation steps Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery timelines Identify and escalate risks or issues, supporting resolution where appropriate Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients throughout project delivery Support deployment activities, including UAT and go-live phases Assist in customer interactions such as workshops, demos, and technical discussions alongside senior consultants Capture learnings from projects and share feedback to support continuous improvement Required – Training & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 2–4 years’ experience in software development or technical consulting roles Foundational knowledge of enterprise web development Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript Exposure to REST APIs and web services Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) Basic understanding of cloud environments (preferably AWS) Nice to Have – Additional Skills: Exposure to frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue) Basic understanding of databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server) Interest in security, identity, or biometric technologies Familiarity with web/application servers (e.g. Tomcat) Any exposure to BPMN or process modelling is a plus Selection Process 30-minute introductory video- call with HR Technical interview with team members Final interview with Hiring Manager Join a collaborative and supportive team where you’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the future of digital identity!
