<p>We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role involves integrating a recently acquired background check product into the Checkr ecosystem and developing it into a solid foundation for a comprehensive identity verification solution.</p>
<p>The Staff Software Engineer will oversee the near-term integration of newly acquired background check solutions into Checkr. Responsibilities include working on data vendor integrations and developing the system into a long-term identity verification platform. The current background check solution includes multiple public APIs, public and internal portals, and numerous microservices.</p>
<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own the product development from ideation, design, implementation, to release</li>
<li>Collaborate with other engineers and product manager on designing and architecting new systems</li>
<li>Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software</li>
<li>Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables</li>
<li>Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What you bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Advanced English proficiency</strong> (verbal and written).</li>
<li><strong>Availability to work a hybrid schedule</strong> in Santiago, Chile (3 days per week in-office).</li>
<li>10+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, and significant experience working with Python</li>
<li>Leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring more junior engineers</li>
<li>Experience with running Scrum rituals (sprint planning, daily standup, sprint review and retrospective)</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with AWS</li>
<li>A strong understanding of microservice architecture infrastructure, inclusive of familiarity with Kubernetes</li>
<li>Experience designing and implementing REST APIs</li>
<li>Experience with CI/CD</li>
<li>Experience working with data stores such as Postgres, MongoDB</li>
<li>Experience with Git, GitLab or Github and PR/MR review process</li>
<li>A passion for optimizing services for scale and speed</li>
