As we expand our investment product offerings, we’re preparing to launch a new, publicly offered investment fund aimed at increasing access for everyday investors. This initiative represents a key step in bringing professionally managed investment strategies into the Robinhood experience.</p> <p>We’re looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee the accounting for all Robinhood Ventures closed end funds.  Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the role will be a key leadership position in the Finance organization, interacting and coordinating with colleagues in Corporate Accounting, Finance & Strategy, Tax, Compliance, Legal and various other departments across the Company to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial results. </p> <p><strong>This role can be based in our New York, NY, Chicago, IL or Menlo Park, CA offices; with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week.</strong></p> <p>At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams. </p> <h2><strong>What you’ll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Oversee the preparation and filing of all periodic SEC financial reports including ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations and the Investment Company Act of 1940</li> <li>Coordinate with the Principal Financial Officer to obtain certifications for Form N-CSR and Form N-PORT pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.</li> <li>For new funds, partner with cross functional teams to ensure a successful IPO of the fund </li> <li>Lead the coordination of annual audits with external auditors</li> <li>Provide strategic oversight of third party administrators, ensuring accuracy of NAV calculations, investments, distributions and expenses.  </li> <li>Participate on the RHV valuation committee to ensure the accuracy of all investment valuations performed by the third party advisors.  </li> <li>Review the fund’s expense budget, including approval of management fees, 12b-1 fees and waiver calculations</li> <li>Maintain a rigorous internal control environment to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with SOX.</li> <li>Participate in Board of Director meetings, including the presentation of required communications  </li> <li>Continuously monitor, document and communicate new accounting standards to leadership and determine their impact on the fund  </li> <li>Provide leadership, support and professional development opportunities to the growing Robinhood Ventures accounting team</li> <li>Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training and success in the accounting organization</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What you bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>12+ years of total experience (including people management) in fund a ...
