DigitalOcean is seeking a shift manager for our 24x7 operations team. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Cloud Operations, this manager will be working with one shift of our existing 24x7 CloudOps team to monitor our cloud services, respond to problems, escalate to engineering where appropriate, and work to build and evangelize reliable processes and procedures that improve service quality and reliability. What You’ll Do: Managing all staff from a specific shift, including shift schedules, day to day logistics as well as career growth and development planning conversations, periodic reviews, goal setting and performance management Owning the organizational structure shift internally to guarantee 24x7 coverage Establish relationships with key staff outside of CloudOps to identify and remedy friction areas Understand common workflows, identify and eliminate inefficiencies, work to identify needs Creation and maintenance of documentation, both technical and managerial What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean: Experience running a global 24/7 team with shift constraints Understanding of Internet protocols, web standards, web and API service architectures Familiar with Linux, Networking, and Internet operation technicals Experience with monitoring systems at scale, methods, and tooling Operational mindset: RACI, ITIL, and process thinking Experience with Jira, Google docs, and other cloud tools A sense of ownership with ability to function independently on tasks and lead larger efforts once up to speed *This job is located in Hyderabad, India #LI-Hybrid Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean We innovate with purpose. The salary range for this position is based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
