Product Lead - Reference Data & Documents – Vice President / Senior Vice President

About the Role iCapital is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Product Leader to join our Pre-Investment product team. In this role, you will own, lead, and deliver strategic product initiatives, providing oversight across the product development lifecycle. You will define and influence your domain—from identifying unmet needs and defining requirements to writing user stories, developing communication plans, and testing product features. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end strategy, vision, and execution for all investment product–related reference data and documents across the platform. Lead the evolution of the firm’s Global Data Master ecosystem, which serves as the authoritative source of reference data for: Investment products (e.g., funds and other investment vehicles) Firms and counterparties Distribution platforms Lead strategic client and internal stakeholder engagements to deploy reference data management solutions that enforce standardization, are easily adopted, and drive downstream features and functionality in other product areas. Partner with executive stakeholders (internal and external) to align on product direction, priorities, and strategic initiatives. Drive platform usage and adoption by delivering high-quality, reliable data and document solutions that meet user needs and increase platform stickiness. Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including requirements definition, user stories, acceptance criteria, QA, and iteration. Ensure flawless execution of product releases by proactively managing risks, dependencies, and cross-functional coordination. Investigate production data or document issues and drive both tactical and strategic resolutions to minimize user impact and improve long-term data quality. Partner closely with UX, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Data teams to ensure alignment and transparency across initiatives. Mentor and guide junior product managers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. Qualifications 8–12+ years of product management experience across Wealth/Asset Management, FinTech, Alternative Investments, or enterprise data platforms, with a strong focus on investment products and data-driven systems. Deep understanding of the U.S. wealth management and asset management ecosystems, including investment products, fund structures, and advisor or institutional distribution models. Strong familiarity with investment product reference data, performance data, and product documents (e.g., disclosures, fact sheets, regulatory materials). Demonstrated experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms or master data management (MDM) solutions. Strong experience working with large datasets; SQL proficiency and a data-driven decision-making approach are required. Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced growth environments. Experience engaging directly with external clients, asset managers, and executive stakeholders to define requirements and deliver strategic implementations. Expertise in writing detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering and data teams. Experience operating within agile development methodologies, with a bias toward rapid deployment, learning, and iteration.
