As a GPU Architect, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving end-to-end architecture specifications and delivering breakthroughs in performance, power efficiency, scalability, and modularity across multiple segments, including ultralow power devices, high-performance GPUs, supercomputing platforms, and custom GPU solutions. Your work will have a direct impact on Intel's leadership in the GPU space, helping to define and deliver cutting-edge technology that powers millions of computational experiences worldwide. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with world-class architects, engineers, and researchers to overcome challenges, redefine the limits of what GPUs can achieve, and contribute to Intel's growth in a competitive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive end-to-end GPU architecture specifications across graphics, compute, media, or display domains to achieve optimized, scalable, and modular designs.
- Conduct competitive analysis, industry trends evaluation, and customer request assessments to define hardware and software feature roadmaps tailored to platform needs.
- Ensure the interoperability of hardware and software across the product lifecycle, addressing functionality, connectivity, configuration, and performance goals.
- Evaluate feasibility trade-offs, explore novel approaches, and define new GPU architectures to meet power, timing, area, and performance constraints.
- Deliver optimized GPU solutions across diverse market segments, from ultralow power devices to supercomputing and customized GPUs.
- Design testing approaches, develop preliminary test plans, and model GPU behaviors and performance for benchmarking and ROI analysis.
- Provide experimental and proof-of-concept alternatives to address power, performance, area, and timing improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review, challenge, and influence roadmaps, driving technology targets for future GPUs.
- Partner with pre-silicon and post-silicon teams to debug, root cause, and resolve critical GPU failures.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, and/or prolonged study in a specialized GPU-related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a Master's degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
- Expertise in GPU architecture fundamentals and computer architecture knowledge.
- Proficiency in architecture definition, feature definition, and hardware architecture development.
- Advanced skills in architecture modeling, debugging, and IP architecture definition.
- Proven ability to conduct research and development to overcome complex problems in the GPU domain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with microarchitecture fundamentals.
- Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, including working with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Familiarity with advanced statistics and data predictions for benchmarking and ROI analysis.
