</div></div><p>As a Senior Web Engineer on the Web Platform team, you’ll lead the development of Shreddit, the heart of <a href="http://reddit.com">reddit.com</a>, with a focus on <strong>platform architecture,</strong> <strong>performance, operational health, and developer experience</strong>. You’ll turn ambiguous platform problems into clear designs and ship high‑quality, observable, well‑tested solutions that other teams rely on every day. </p>
<p>You’ll work on high‑impact platform projects like optimizing Shreddit's bundling and delivery of assets, evolving our html rendering orchestration layer to provide a top-of-the-line experience for our users world-wide, and our web platform infrastructure's resiliency and scalability. </p>
<p>You will also drive developer-experience improvements such as improving our CI/CD pipelines, providing easy-to-use developer patterns so that product teams can ship fast, safe and performant features on Shreddit.</p>
<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong>:</p>
<p><em><strong>Build with impact:</strong> Design and evolve the Shreddit web platform’s architecture, performance, and developer tooling that powers reddit.com for hundreds of millions of users across the world.</em><em><strong>Own the web stack:</strong> Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex, cross‑service initiatives in areas like asset delivery, html processing, observability and reliability for core web experiences.</em><em><strong>Collaborate broadly:</strong> Partner with feature teams, infrastructure, safety, security and other platform teams to make Reddit’s web experience fast, stable, and accessible worldwide.</em><em><strong>Multiply others:</strong> Mentor and coach other engineers through design reviews, pairing, and documentation, raising the bar for web engineering across Reddit.</em><em><strong>Shape the platform:</strong> Be a thought partner in our web platform strategy, informing our roadmap for performance as a feature, observability, and developer experience.</em></p>
<p><strong>You Have:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>6+ years software engineering experience, with experience in working cross-functionally to lead projects from start to finish with end user impact.</li>
<li>Deep experience with modern web platform engineering: </li>
<ul>
<li>TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, bundlers (e.g., Vite, Rollup, Webpack), and Node performance observability tools.</li>
<li>Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular or Lit.</li>
</ul>
<li>A past track record of<strong> quality</strong>:</li>
<ul>
<li>Enabling testing culture (unit/integration tests, local/automated testing, load and performance testing)</li>
<li>Improving resiliency and fault tolerance of systems</li>
<li>Profiling and tuning performance of network calls, rendering, or data access paths.</li>
