This role will design and implement high leverage, high performance technical processes and systems.Our ideal candidate can lead initiatives in different domains and is fueled by a passion for tackling complex problems head-on. Whether you've honed your expertise designing web-scale systems at large companies, or scaling startups from 0 to 1, we want to hear your story.What You’ll DoDesign and develop platform capabilities enabling integrations with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Lead efforts to optimize service orchestration, data flow, and performanceDrive high standards for security, testability, observability, and deployment automation.Architect high volume systems that will support hundreds of thousands of patientsDesign and maintain modern, developer-friendly APIs and SDKs and documentationCollaborate with and lead other engineers to build performant, scaleable, and secure systemsRequirementsBachelor's degree5-7+ years of software engineering experienceExpertise building backend systems in Python (1-2 years) and Node + TypeScript (1-2 years)Hands-on experience designing relational database schemas and migrations for scalability, extensibility, performance, and stabilityExperience managing customer-facing APIs through versioning, deprecation cycles, and customer migration pathsProven ability to diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks in database-backed applicationsWorking knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and build systemsStrong communication skills to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholdersExperience working in high growth, fast paced startup environmentsNice to HavesExperience working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and/or healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR / HL7)Experience building systems managing HIPAA compliant data or similar compliance driven industries with data security requirementsExperience building scalable, observable distributed systemsExperience building ETL pipelines to extract from multiple source systems and load into cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) to support analytics and reporting needs across the organization.Tools You Will UseDjango + Python 3Node + TypescriptGraphQLPostgresSQLAWSDatadog for monitoring and observabilityGit / Github / GraphiteWhat We OfferIn addition to offering a competitive salary and equity, we want to ensure every team member has the tools they need to work to the best of their ability.
