As part of our Electrical Engineering team, you’ll help design and build the satellites that make our missions possible. As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Turion Space, you will take full ownership of the design, integration, and testing of electrical hardware that powers our spacecraft bus and payload systems. You will work hands-on from concept to launch, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver flight-ready electrical systems. This is a full-time, exempt position based on-site at our Irvine, California headquarters.Key ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for the entire satellite electrical systemDefine and lead satellite harness definition and fabrication processesDesign and develop high reliability electrical systems and PCBs for satellite devicesTake charge of system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, design, and testLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis down to component levelMaintain and update requirements and design documentation throughout the entire system life cycleMaintain effective communication with all the functional groups to ensure project success (such as mechanical, manufacturing, software, test, and supply chain)Support on-orbit operations as electrical systems subject matter expertMentor engineers and conduct peer design reviewsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field5+ years of hardware development experience in PCB board design and layout and electronic system prototyping and validationExperience designing and developing new hardware from concept to launchAdvanced proficiency with design tools for schematic capture (Altium preferred)Confidence working in the lab with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and logic analyzersStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and interact effectively with team members and stakeholdersMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearancePreferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldPassion for space and curiosity for electronics in high-reliability applications2+ years of experience in space technologiesExperience with high-voltage systems, radiation-hardened electronics, and space-qualified componentsExperience with circuit simulation tools such as LTSpiceExperience with switching power supply designExperience with common communication busses (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-422/485, CAN, USB, 1000BASE-T, PCIe)Embedded systems and microcontroller implementation with DDR and PCIeUnderstanding of analog, high speed, and differential signal routingExperience with high performance digital processors, FPGAs, memory chips, or network switchesExperience with circuit board design-for-manufacturability, productization of electronicsSenior Electrical Engineer Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 USDITAR Requirements:This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
