This is especially true for underserved industries like automotive and healthcare, where outdated systems persist due to barriers to entry, legacy software, and high-stakes consequences of hallucinations and failure.Here at Toma (YC W24), we are bridging this gap by providing a customer-centric platform to deploy and monitor AI agents, even for non-technical users. Learn more about us here.About this RoleWe’re looking for a Sr. Founding Engineer to own the technical direction on our engineering team, mentor other engineers, and partner closely with product and design to deliver fast, reliable, and magical user experiences. This role is deeply hands-on. You’ll be writing and reviewing code daily, shaping architecture, and helping scale our platform as we grow.What you will doLead the architecture, implementation, and delivery of user-facing products (dashboard, real-time voice AI, support tooling)Write high-quality, production-grade TypeScript across the stack (Next.js, Bun)Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical planningCollaborate directly with Product and Design to align on priorities and execute quicklyPartner with other pods to integrate intelligent features into the product experienceDrive engineering velocity while maintaining reliability and system healthWork closely with customers to translate their feedback into scalable product improvementsPreferred QualificationsExperience in TypeScript, low-level Node.js (Bun), T3 Stack (Next.js, React, Prisma, PostgreSQL, NextAuth, tRPC)5+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack web applicationsExperience leading projects or teams in fast-paced environmentsCare about craft and speed (you can move quickly without compromising on quality)Desire to continuously learnDon’t think you meet all the qualifications?
