Founding Engineer - Kindroid

Overview: Kindroid makes virtual people that enrich real people's lives. Since launch, we've been the joybringer for millions of people, who've created and customized their unique virtual companion with custom backstories, memories, appearances, and voices. We're growing explosively, having grown from 0 to $9M retentive ARR. We're a lean, 5-person team and are already profitable. We've been featured on NYT, WSJ, New Yorker, and Business Insider, and are backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley.We are looking for a Founding Engineer to help build out the future of Kindroid. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and growth, and you'll be wearing multiple hats at almost everything you do, and you'll be expected to learn very fast on the fly.The ideal candidate is a builder and doer first - someone who has demonstrated true hustle in identifying opportunities and getting things done. Our ideal teammate should be unreasonably obsessive - over product, users, code, growth - and relentless in everything they do. You'll have direct impact on both product decisions and real users' experiences from day one.Core Requirements:Strong engineering fundamentals, rigorous 4 year CS degree or equivalentVery strong ambition and drive to learn fastTrack record of creative problem-solving and resourceful executionFluency with using AI to make you more efficient and creative and abilityManiacal obsession to be great and willing to go all in on being the best at whatever you apply yourself toPreferred/What Makes You Stand Out: Experience working on consumer products that people use, especially in social/gaming/AI spacesExperience with growth hacking, and rigorous experimentation mindsetHistory of entrepreneurial projects or early-stage startup experienceThis role is perfect for someone who wants to shape a fast-growing product at the intersection of AI and human connection. You'll have autonomy to identify opportunities and execute on them, whether that means building new features, reading and applying research to end user product, or prototyping new interactions.The team is currently remote but will likely move to in-person hybrid in the Bay Area - residing in or relocation in California is strongly preferred.
