As Ciena is evolving his supply chain model in Mexico, an additional purchasing position is being created to support the growing amount of business in the Region. This is a full time Ciena position, to be based in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Responsibilities The main objective is to make sure timeliness of supply, accuracy of delivery information between the respective MRP systems as well as providing first level escalation and support on issues such as product availability, receiving snags, invoicing disputes, etc. General Activities Timely Purchase Orders placement, reporting and maintenance Timely receipt of Promise date from Suppliers Order board alignment (alignment of data between Ciena and its suppliers) Shipment and receipt tracking, consolidation point for expedites, receipts and payables Consolidation and report on PO metrics Re-work tracking, follow up with vendors, manage aging and backlog, manage return dates. Purge execution – Return to vendor, tracking returns back to Ciena PO snag resolution Receiving/Invoice snag resolution Coordination of direct shipment to customers Collaboration with stakeholders This position is responsible for executing the various tactical activities involved in our products purchases, partnering with Ciena’s material planning teams, as well as our EMS Partners and OEM Vendors.
