The Payment Resiliency team develops new products for Mastercard's fraud prevention platform. We protect cardholders / card issuers and aim to eradicate credit card fraud. Our industry-leading bastion of defense processes billions of transactions per month with execution times literally 10X faster than you can blink. The Consultant Software Engineer will play a critical role in creating new product functionality within this platform including world-class backend and consumer-facing features. Role • Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for assigned technical platforms or services, from ideation through delivery and continuous improvement. • Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned to program and enterprise objectives • Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into well‑defined product features and backlogs. • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to shape technical solutions, APIs, and integration patterns. • Ensure product designs meet Mastercard standards for availability, performance, security, and scalability. • Support release planning, deployment readiness, and post‑release validation. • Serve as the primary product contact for internal stakeholders across technology, compliance, operations, and leadership. • Drive effective forums including elaborations, stand‑ups, and progress reviews to maintain alignment and transparency. • Communicate product status, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and proactively. • Ensure adherence to Mastercard policies, including security controls, PCI compliance, and operational risk management. • Identify and manage product risks, dependencies, and cross‑team impacts. • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and operational reviews as required • Identify opportunities to improve platform stability, delivery efficiency, and customer experience. • Apply agile and product management best practices to optimize execution. • Mentor and guide junior product managers or cross‑functional team members when applicable. All About You • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. • 7+ years of experience in technical product management, platform ownership, or equivalent roles. • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and enterprise platforms. • Experience working in agile delivery environments with cross‑functional teams. • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder ecosystems and drive outcomes. • Preferred experience in payments, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
