Job Description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril's global communications team is responsible for shaping how the world understands modern defense technology—and why it matters. We're seeking a Director of Communications, Europe, to build and lead Anduril's external communications presence across the continent. This is a senior individual contributor role based in Amsterdam, reporting to the VP of Global Communications, with a dotted line to Anduril's European General Manager. You will be Anduril's first dedicated communications hire in Europe, responsible for standing up a regional program from scratch, building relationships with media and institutions, and developing the narratives that will define Anduril's reputation across the world's most consequential defense markets. This is a builder role. You'll set strategy and execute it yourself, establish agency and contractor networks as the business grows, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with business development, policy, and senior leadership to earn Anduril a place in Europe's defense conversation. The ideal candidate has deep roots across multiple European markets, understands how defense, technology, and industrial policy intersect at the national level, and knows how to build presence and credibility in environments where trust is earned slowly and reputation matters enormously.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build Anduril's European communications program from the ground up, developing strategy, establishing infrastructure, and executing across markets with varying levels of maturity and priority.
Drive media relations across defense, technology, business, and policy outlets in priority European markets, building the relationships and pipelines that will sustain long-term coverage.
Develop and execute market-specific narrative strategies that connect Anduril's mission and capabilities to each country's defense priorities, industrial ambitions, and security context.
Work closely with Anduril's European General Manager and business development teams to support market entry, customer engagement, partnerships, and key events.
Build and manage a network of regional agencies and contractors as European operations expand.
Partner with global communications, policy, and marketing teams to adapt core messaging for European audiences without losing coherence or accuracy.
Engage think tanks, research institutions, and policy communities to build credibility and shape the broader discourse around defense innovation and allied cooperation.
Own metrics and reporting frameworks to track progress and demonstrate impact across markets.
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or media relations, ideally with meaningful time spent in defense, national security, or dual-use technology sectors.
Fluency in the European defense and political landscape across multiple countries, how decisions get made, who shapes opinion, and where the conversation is heading.
A track record of building communications programs in new markets, not just inheriting them.
Experience managing agencies, contractors, and regional communications networks across borders.
Exceptional writing and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop narratives that land across cultures and audiences.
