Department Overview The Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. Every single day, we are shaping the future of mobile workgroup solutions for public safety and industrial users worldwide leveraging Motorola’s rich heritage in this space. Our solutions include broadband Push to Talk (PTT), multimedia messaging, location based collaboration, video streaming with full interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems. The products include client apps on Android, iOS, and Windows. Our backend software can be deployed On-Prem, in private data centers, or in a public cloud infrastructure. Job Description This position is critical to the successful execution of Motorola Solutions' strategic objectives, directly impacting the company's ability to innovate, deliver high-quality products and services, and maintain its competitive edge. The role involves comprehensive management of product and service development and implementation, from initial concept through to successful market launch and post-launch evaluation. This role requires close collaboration with Motorola Solutions’ India Design Center (IDC) team based in Bengaluru. The Program Manager is expected to work closely with onsite engineering teams to drive execution alignment, ensure effective communication, and maintain delivery predictability across global stakeholders. The ability to operate effectively in a distributed development environment, with strong onsite engagement and relationship-building, is critical to success in this role. Key Responsibilities and Impact: End-to-End Project Ownership: The incumbent is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of projects, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. This includes defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, as well as managing associated risks and dependencies. The ability to seamlessly transition projects, often to ongoing operational teams, is crucial for sustained product and service efficacy. Cross-functional Leadership and Coordination: A core function of this role is to lead and coordinate diverse departmental and cross-functional teams. This requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to foster collaboration and ensure alignment among stakeholders from engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and other relevant departments. The effective integration of these teams is paramount to delivering cohesive and market-ready solutions. Performance Tracking and Evaluation: The position necessitates rigorous tracking and evaluation of project performance against established metrics. This includes monitoring progress, identifying deviations from the plan, and implementing corrective actions to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and adhere to predefined quality standards. Regular reporting and transparent communication of project status to senior leadership and stakeholders are essential for informed decision-making.
