ABOUT THE ROLE
Avoca is building the AI platform for home services. We've found strong product-market fit in our core verticals and now we're expanding into new ones. We're hiring a New Verticals Lead to own that expansion end-to-end.
This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of product, go-to-market, and customer execution. Working directly with the Head of New Verticals, you'll take new markets from early exploration to repeatable revenue, defining entry strategy, running design partner pilots, translating what you learn in the field into product direction, and building the GTM playbooks that turn early traction into scalable growth.
This is not a pure strategy role. You'll be in the field, on calls, in the product, and accountable for outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Define ICP, segmentation, and entry wedges for each new market.
- Structure and run design partner pilots with clear success criteria.
- Turn pilots into repeatable, revenue-generating deployments with defined expansion paths.
- Lead discovery, implementation, and review calls across operators and executives.
- Operate confidently in front of senior stakeholders: C-suite, PE fund principals, and multi-location operators.
- Travel to customer sites when needed to build trust and accelerate deals.
- Translate field insights into structured product briefs and feature scopes.
- Partner with Engineering to prioritize what to build and what to skip.
- Ensure what we ship in one account scales across the vertical.
- Develop vertical positioning, qualification frameworks, and pilot playbooks.
- Create early case studies, ROI narratives, and proof points that Sales can run with.
- Identify and validate the signals that tell us we've found product-market fit.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3-6 years of experience in consulting, product, or operator roles at high-growth startups.
- Track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from ambiguity to outcomes.
- Strong structured thinking: you can break down a messy market into a clear plan of attack.
- Clear, concise communication with both technical and executive audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity, travel, and the pace of an early-stage company building something new.
- Bonus points if experience in vertical SaaS or AI-powered products, working with multi-location operators or PE-backed businesses, or direct field experience in B2B sales or customer success.
WHO YOU ARE
- You default to action. You'd rather run a scrappy pilot next week than spend a month perfecting the strategy deck.
- You're comfortable being the only person on a problem: scoping it, selling it, building the process around it, and owning the number.
- You move naturally between a PE partner's boardroom and a dispatcher's screen without changing how seriously you take either conversation.
- You think in systems. Even while sprinting on a single account, you're asking "what needs to be true for this to work ten times?"
- In-office, engaged, and eager to lead from the front at our NYC location full-time.
