We are seeking an energetic, self-driven individual who will play a key role in developing, building, and activating the fluid systems that power Starship's success. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop instrumentation and valve panel designs in 3D from schematics using Siemens NX Create bills of material for your designs Manage the production and manufacturing of instrumentation panels and high-pressure skids Assist lead technicians in coordinating shop and field activity to support project schedules Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and ability to effectively coordinate team activity with all trades Develop robust solutions for raw material availability Utilize internal SpaceX resources and external vendors as needed Ensure launch assets are physically configured for upgrades and work areas are accessible by coordinating with launch pad and recovery vessel operations teams Create and implement solutions for safe project site operations per SpaceX environmental health Safety (EHS) direction Support project engineering team as needed with other project preparations and shop/field coordination BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 3+ years of experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD) modeling or hands-on experience within a production or fabrication environment PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with Siemens NX or similar software 5+ years of experience with instrumentation panel design and build Computer numerical control (CNC) programming experience Orbital tube welding experience Full operational knowledge of high-pressure fluid transfer systems Experience working with cryogenic systems Experience with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and material flow Ability to demonstrate a strong project management strategy Ability to react quickly to change and over-communicate paths forward ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: General physical fitness is required for some work areas, hardware typically is built in tight quarters, and physical dexterity is required Valid driver’s license Ability to work in extreme environments – heat, cold, rain, fumes, odors, and noise Schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required Stand: Up to 10 hours per day Sit: Up to 3 hours per day Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day Overhead reach: Up to 10 hours per day Walk: Up to 10 hours per day Lift/Carry: Up to ≤ 50 lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 6 hours per day Kneel/Crouch: Up to 10 hours per day Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees 6 hours or greater per day Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description.
