Associate Director, Logistics Operations INT & 3PL Management

In this role, you will lead Moderna’s INT logistics operations across the U.S., shaping the future of supply chain execution through digital transformation and AI-driven orchestration. You will operate at the intersection of logistics, technology, and compliance—ensuring resilient, scalable, and fully compliant distribution across a complex global network. This is a leadership role where you will empower a high-performing team while redefining how Moderna connects, moves, and monitors life-saving therapies. Here’s What You’ll Do Lead the INT logistics operations and 3PL management while empowering a high-performing, tech-savvy team. Implement and own GDP compliant end to end shipping concepts: handling of goods, shipping validation and customs clearance, etc. Own end-to-end 3PL lifecycle management across packaging, device, and logistics partners. RFPs, selection, onboarding, performance governance, and offboarding included. Lead 3PL performance management. Define and track KPIs, run QBRs, and drive proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement. Ensure processes are adherent to Health Authority requirements and guidelines, such as Good Distribution and Storage Practices, based on commercial demands and product portfolio Implement AI-powered visibility, forecasting, and exception management tools to enhance operational responsiveness. Partner with Moderna Digital and Logistics Engineering to design and deploy next-gen systems: transport management, digital twins, predictive analytics, and automation platforms. Advance end-to-end digital connectivity with 3PLs and carriers, including IoT-enabled cold chain monitoring and automated customs clearance. Optimize the cost to serve and ensures efficient management of logistics-related activities Partner with trade compliance to make sure processes follow import and export regulations Work closely with key stakeholders such as INT operations, Supply Chain Planning, Logistics Engineering, Corporate Security, and Quality to ensure business and compliance requirements are reflected in distribution and logistics processes Develop and implement distribution network structure together with key stakeholders Develop distribution and logistics key performance indicators (KPI) Update and implement Compliance and Business Process documentation – internally and with 3rd Party Logistics providers Co-ordinate and manage internal and external parties to deliver the initiatives within agreed upon time frame Here’s What You’ll Need ( Basic Qualifications) Education: BS/BA degree in supply chain / logistics, engineering, or management/business administration Experience: 8-10 years (BS) or 5-8 years (MS) in various Distribution/Logistics functions and Supply Chain Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment with a good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain, highly preferred. Experience with SAP or ERP systems and modern logistics software platforms (e.g. transport management system, visibility tools, digital twins) Working knowledge of GDP and relevant guidelines and regulations. Highly organized, solutions-driven, and able to manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
