Job Description:
The Maintenance Electrician is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires active participation in an electrical apprenticeship or training program, or the completion of such program without final certification. Regardless of specialty, a Maintenance Electrician II may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects.
Shift: Monday- Friday 7am-330pm
On call rotation
seasonal needs will have hours outside of normal business
Essential Functions
Maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in the hospital, including lighting, power, and control systems.
Performs regular preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoots and diagnose electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
Ensures all electrical work is performed in compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
Works closely with other members of the facilities management team to coordinate electrical work with other maintenance and repair activities.
Demonstrates a level of competency to perform work on routine to moderately complex systems.

Required Qualifications
Experience as an electrician and participation in or completion of without certification an electrician apprenticeship or training program.
Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
The ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings and plans.
A valid driver license may be required for this position.

Experience in a healthcare setting
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$28.09 - $42.74
