Join Our Team as an Ultrasound Technologist!
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our healthcare team at Logan Regional Hospital. If you're passionate about providing exceptional care and want to work in an environment that values growth, we’d love to hear from you!
This role will work Monday's and Thursday's from 8am-4pm. Incumbent may be hired on as a level I or II, depending on qualifications and experience.
Essential Functions
Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
Demonstrates proficiency with all clinical equipment within the department and all exam types.
Exhibits good safety practices in body substance protection, cleaning of equipment, using proper sterile techniques, and removing any expired materials.
Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.

Ultrasound Tech I Qualifications:
Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) - Successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular)
Health Services\BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
Ultrasound Tech II Qualifications:
Must have completed a minimum of two additional years of experience relevant to the department post obtaining Ultrasound Tech I. (Primary Children’s one of the two years must be pediatric experience)
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registry - Successful completion of one additional registry pertinent to the department beyond Ultrasound Technologist I or (SPI 2 registries). Options include Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, Vascular, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). (Primary Children’s one of the two registries must be pediatric)
Health Services\BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
