Job Description: To perform non-invasive cardiac EKG-based services diagnostic tests on inpatients or outpatient, according to physician orders. To provide quality testing, data analysis and reporting, and best patient care. Incumbent will work with allied medical professionals and networked Intermountain facilities. Scanners will work with physicians to provide quality assurance to EKG interpretation. The scanner is expected to do all of the EKG technician and editor duties, with the added responsibilities of the Holter Editor (Scanner). Job Essentials Performs exams per department protocol and demonstrates EKG competency. Completes scans within accepted time limitations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination. Operates and exhibits a working knowledge of the Holter equipment by demonstrating the ability to proficiently use it and select the proper settings. Incumbent is directly responsible for correctly scanning and labeling Holter data. Notifies physician if critical values are identified during the scan. Tracks all Holter equipment and completes Holter data analysis and billing. Provides patient education as needed and assures patient comfort. Minimum Qualifications Must have and maintain current BLS certification for healthcare providers. Successfully meets department specific Holter proficiency standard as approved by the EKG Medical Director. Preferred Qualifications One year experience as an EKG Tech or EKG Tech/Editor. Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Standing.
