Volunteer Description: Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Our dedicated volunteers provide countless hours of exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff.  They are an integral part of our McKay Dee Hospital family, providing valuable support in a variety of departments throughout the hospital. This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the pleasure that comes from making a difference in people’s lives. We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as: Same Day - Keeping family updated with information regarding their family member who is having surgery and helping at the front desk. Front Information Desk - Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointments Endoscopy Clinic – Assisting patients/staff in the Endoscopy Clinic and meeting their needs Womens’ Imaging- Assisting in getting patients back to the department and getting them gowns and giving some instructions. Music – Playing the piano Other Departments- Patient experience and way finding. Qualifications: The volunteer program requires a six-month commitment, with a minimum of presenting for a 3-4 hour shift each week, exceptions being for vacation or illness Must be at least 16 years of age Able to work alone and independently Have good communication and listening skills Ability to follow instructions Ability to work with diverse populations Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing) Adequate hearing and vision Sensitive to patient and family situations Requirements: Pass a background Agree to get a TB test Meet Immunization compliance We are looking for volunteers who are good examples of our vision:  Enthusiastic, Dedicated Volunteers Committed to Providing Exceptional Service .
