Laser Diode Manufacturing Engineer Overview: At Inertia, we are building the world's highest average power laser to initialize the first commercial fusion power plant. We are seeking talented engineering leadership to define and execute the strategy for supplying laser diodes at the scale, cost, and reliability required for fusion energy. This role is critical to transforming the laser diode industry,modernizing assembly processes, driving industrial automation, and establishing a scalable manufacturing foundation. You will work across suppliers and internal teams to ensure we can meet the demands of power plant deployment to modernize the assembly process. Leverage industrial automation to increase throughput while ensuring quality. This position will report to the VP of Industrial Engineering. Primary Responsibilities: - Define baseline assembly process and automation requirements for high-volume laser diode production - Evaluate and select vendors - Establish manufacturing best practices across suppliers and internal operations - Drive yield improvement through yield analysis and failure analysis Qualifications: - B.S. with 10+ years of experience, or M.S. with 7+ years of experience - Deep experience with QCW Diodes packaging experience - Proven track record in high volume manufacturing environments - Strong background in production quality control and process optimization - Experience with semiconductor back-end packaging experience a plus Salary & Benefits: - The base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $$240,000; The pay range provided is an estimated base range for this role.
