Senior Accountant We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. In this role, you’ll support Fixed Asset and Internal Use Software accounting. You’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records through journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and KPI updates with an emphasis on SOX-compliant processes and cross-functional coordination. What You'll Do: Own and execute full-cycle Fixed Asset and Internal Use Software accounting including: review of new equipment purchases for capitalization, assess portfolio for impairment triggers, review equipment purchase agreements, input fixed assets into the subledger, review internal-use software development, generate and post journal entries, assess and record accruals, prepare variance analysis, prepare disclosures, and partner with FPA on Budget vs Actual analysis Update key accounting metrics and support KPI tracking during month-end close Collaborate with Supply Chain, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure completeness and accuracy of upstream information Proactively communicate task status, escalate issues as needed, and follow through on deliverables Support additional accounting tasks and evolving team needs as assigned — this role will grow over time, and flexibility to take on new responsibilities is key What We're Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 3+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting Familiarity with global accounting operations and U.S. GAAP (ASC 360 ASC 350-40) Detail-oriented, well-organized, and dependable Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUP, pivot tables) Able to work independently with general direction and communicate effectively across teams Comfortable taking ownership of tasks, asking thoughtful questions, and seeing work through to completion We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: Audit experience and CPA a plus Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, and G-Suite a plus Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use AI tools to enhance workflows and deliver measurable gains in efficiency and quality. The preferred hybrid location for this position is: San Francisco, CA Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
