A Day in the Life
This engineer will serve as the project lead for the Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) portfolio focused on power components across our Cardio and Neuro device platforms. The role is responsible for delivering improvements while maintaining compliance to Medtronic standards and regulatory requirements. The engineer will lead execution of the project with a cross functional group across R&D, operations, supply chain, quality, and VAVE. A diverse technical background combined with knowledge of implementing changes to existing products will make the individual successful in this role.

This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Provide technical leadership and project management to development projects in VAVE, RPE, and new product portfolio
Knowledge of Scope, Schedule, and budget and can communicate plan and any changes to program manager
Work with cross functional teams, including Design, Operations, Quality, Reliability and Tooling, to develop processes for manufacturing components in a regulated industry
Develop processes for future products; Development includes meeting quality standards with capable processes to optimize production efficiencies and yields
Participate with product design to ensure that processes and designs are compatible; Utilize predictive engineering to optimize design, reliability, and manufacturability
Plan and execute process validation: characterization, OQ/PQ, TMVs and process release activities
Develop manufacturing equipment by creating requirements and interfacing with equipment supplier during equipment build; Plan and execute FAT/SAT and IQ
Utilize quality tools and FMEAs to ensure product and processes meet quality requirements
Run experiments with statistical analysis to support fast learning cycles
Lead the innovation, development and optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations
Lead and manage projects with several groups to keep schedule and cost on track
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
Requirements: Requires a Baccalaureate degree AND minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
