Staff SW Engineer

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to: Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability. Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings. Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads. Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions. Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now, Pay Later Technology. Identify and contribute to the development and solution strategies to team members that improve the design and functionality of interface features across one or more project features, under minimal guidance. Apply standard processes on the use of programming languages (e.g. HTML, C++, Java) to write code that fulfills website modification requests and technical requirements. Collaborate with others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products. Analyze bugs for simple issues and apply debugging tools to verify assumptions. Up to 5% domestic travel required. Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or related technical field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Java, building and consuming REST APIs. Spring Technologies. Diagraming solutions (flow, block, logical). Security and Authentication standards and technologies (OAuth). JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks (JQuery, React, Angular). Building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline. Database technologies: Oracle, MySql and NoSQL solutions. Network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls. Docker, Kubernetes. Handling vendor product and integration with internal Windows/Linux-based Applications. C#, C++. Building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability. Worksite: Austin, TX This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. Travel Requirements:  Up to 5% domestic travel required.
