Business Development Representative OUR MISSION To become the car-changing destination of choice. By combining technology, media and deep automotive expertise, we’ve transformed how people buy, sell, advertise and lease cars. What started as a simple reviews site is now one of Europe’s largest car-changing destinations. Over 10 million customers have used carwow to buy and sell cars, with £3bn worth of cars bought and £1.8bn listed for sale last year alone. In 2024, we acquired Autovia — creators of Auto Express and evo — doubling our audience overnight. Today, our brands reach over 350 million users annually and generate 1.1bn+ YouTube views, influencing how millions of drivers choose their next car. And we’re a long way from done. GYC ADVERTISING @ CARWOW This role sits within GYC (Get Your Car) Advertising, a fast-growing commercial team responsible for building Carwow’s Used and New Car Advertising business. The two markets are at very different stages: - New Car Advertising is a mature, high-performing product with strong market fit and limited competition. - Used Car Advertising is an emerging channel — competitive, fast-moving, and still being proven. We operate like a startup within a startup: - small team - high ownership - evolving products and processes - limited structure by design As a BDR, you’ll help build the foundations of this business by creating high-quality outbound pipeline, shaping how we approach dealers, and defining what “good” looks like from the ground up. YOUR MISSION Your mission is to create qualified pipeline from cold outbound outreach, focused initially on Used Car Advertising, and set the sales team up to win. This role is not about closing deals or working warm leads. It’s about discipline, resilience, and learning — building strong sales fundamentals in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES GENERATE OUTBOUND PIPELINE (USED-FIRST) - Cold-call and message independent dealers and retail groups - Open relevant commercial conversations about Used Car Advertising - Book qualified meetings only for BDMs QUALIFY BEFORE YOU BOOK - Ask structured discovery questions - Understand dealer context (stock size, sales velocity, appetite to invest) - Disqualify early when there’s no fit BUILD STRONG SALES FUNDAMENTALS - Learn how carwow demand works - Develop an understanding of used-car dealer economics - Improve messaging and objection handling through repetition and feedback OPERATE WITH DISCIPLINE - Hit clear daily and weekly activity targets - Maintain accurate CRM records - Protect BDM time by avoiding low-quality meetings KEY REQUIREMENTS - Comfortable with cold outreach and rejection - Clear, concise communicator - Able to follow structure and process consistently - Curious about how businesses make money - Coachable and open to feedback - Resilient and focused under pressure BONUS POINTS - Previous outbound sales or customer-facing experience - Exposure to automotive, marketplaces, or performance-led products - Desire to progress into more senior commercial roles over time WHY THIS MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU - If you’re looking for inbound or warm leads - If you dislike repetition and outbound activity - If you prefer closing over qualifying - If you need heavy structure and certainty from day one FINAL NOTE This role is ideal if you want to learn outbound sales properly, build real commercial skills, and progress over time into broader Used and New Car Advertising roles.
