The Donor Relations and Stewardship Specialist II serves as the donor relations and stewardship expert and liaison to senior leaders and principal and major gift officers, ensuring that donor engagement is personalized and highly tailored and strategies are fully integrated as a part of a comprehensive Donor Strategy and Engagement Plan (DSEP). This position is responsible for performing complex and diverse responsibilities to significantly increase philanthropic support for Intermountain Health. Working alongside Foundation leaders and other members of the philanthropy team, this position ensures that strategic, well-coordinated high-yield donor strategy and engagement plans are executed that encompass the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of principal gift and major gift prospects and donors to create meaningful donor experiences that foster ongoing engagement and lasting relationships with Intermountain.
Scope
Reporting to the Donor Relations Manager, the Donor Relations and Stewardship Specialist II works with senior leaders, principal and major gift officers, and other members of the Donor Relations & Stewardship team to develop and implement strategies for maximizing financial support from a portfolio of current donors and donor prospects across a spectrum of giving opportunities system-wide.
Job Essentials
1. Assists senior leaders and principal and major gift officers in meeting their annual revenue goals by coordinating the logistics aimed at identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding principal and major gifts.
2. In partnership with leaders and gift officers, develops and executes Donor Strategy and Engagement Plans (DSEPs) for specific assigned prospects with an emphasis on principal and major gift level donors. Conducts research and analysis needed to develop and execute DSEPs as needed.
3. Facilitates internal meetings with leadership, administrators, and other Intermountain caregivers to advance prospect strategy and develops a mechanism for ensuring commitments made in the planning process are communicated to responsible parties.
4. Ensures that the key actions and steps from the DSEPs are coded in The Raiser's Edge and monitors that strategies are being implemented in a timely manner, as well as coordinates regular reviews of the DSEPs to keep them refreshed and updated.
5. Using The Raiser's Edge, maintains accurate database records, contact reports, updates and follow up on visits, phone calls and strategies for prospects and donors under relationship management.
6. Identifies principal and major gift prospects who have the potential to be qualified by a relationship manager and as appropriate, assists with the qualification of prospects and donors for assignment to portfolios.
7. Supports the execution of principal and major gift strategies by participating in the development of proposals, briefs, talking points, presentations, and other strategic communications and fundraising materials, as well as acting as a project manager as needed to coordinate with various Intermountain caregivers, including members of Marketing and Communications (Marcom), and external partners and vendors to develop top level donor communications, while maintaining consistent Intermountain branding and messaging standards.
8. Collaborates with various Foundation colleagues and stakeholders to plan and execute meaningful cultivation, stewardship, and recognition events for principal and major gift prospects and donors that engage, recognize, and acknowledge donors and help increase affinity for Intermountain and its mission.
9. Manages gift acknowledgement letters, phone calls, and other meaningful contact for portfolios of principal and major gift donors and assists with personalization ensuring that all gifts are acknowledged in a timely, accurate, and meaningful way.
