The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a Nurse Specialist, providing expert clinical care coordination for pregnant patients with complex fetal diagnoses. This role is responsible for comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while serving as a clinical partner to providers and a trusted resource for patients and families. The Nurse Specialist utilizes the nursing process, clinical technology, and therapeutic interventions to coordinate care across a multidisciplinary team and support high‑quality, family‑centered outcomes.
About the Unit
The Nurse Specialist in the Grant Scott Bonham Fetal Center plays a key role in coordinating care for pregnant patients whose babies require advanced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) and pediatric subspecialty support. Our clinic delivers truly comprehensive care through a multidisciplinary team that includes board‑certified Maternal Fetal Medicine providers, multiple pediatric subspecialists, specialty sonographers, nurse coordinators, and a dedicated social worker.
We focus on individualized care planning and counseling, helping families understand their fetus’s condition, available treatment options, and anticipated outcomes. Our approach is rooted in high‑quality, family‑centered care and supported by access to additional resources such as child life services, financial counseling and assistance, and palliative care.

Experience in Labor & Delivery, an MFM/OB clinic, or a care coordinator role. Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Rate: Competitive salary based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Current RN License in state of practice.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Practice specific certification as required by the clinical setting in which they work (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.).
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.
Note: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of April 27, 2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will follow the requirements in place at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
