We are looking for a Sr Software Developer to join the Dayforce Core Services team, where you will work on event-driven systems, distributed services, and AI-assisted engineering solutions that power a large-scale SaaS platform. What you'll get to do Design and build scalable backend services and platform components Work on event-driven and distributed systems supporting high-scale workloads Solve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges in production systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features Drive technical design and architecture decisions Mentor engineers and contribute to strong engineering practices Build and leverage AI-assisted tools/agents to improve developer productivity and system adoption Skills and experience we value Core Backend & System Design Proven expertise in C#, .NET, and backend service development Track record of building scalable SaaS or enterprise applications Solid understanding of distributed systems and system design Deep knowledge of SQL Server and relational databases Architecture & Platform Experience Experience with event-driven architecture, messaging systems, or asynchronous processing Experience designing and building microservices and containerized applications (Docker/Kubernetes) Experience working with Azure or cloud-native architectures Engineering Practices & Reliability Experience implementing observability, logging, and monitoring solutions Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Strong problem-solving and debugging skills AI & Modern Engineering Hands on experience using or building AI-based tools or agents to improve development workflows, automation, or system operations Strong general proficiency in AI developer tooling, including Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, and related tools. Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, documentation, and workflow automation. Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging AI engineering tools and integrate them effectively into day-to-day development practices.
