Principal Software Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead technical execution across a large-scale SaaS platform. This role is focused on turning architecture into high-quality, production-grade systems. You will drive execution across teams, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and built with strong engineering discipline. What You Will Own Drive implementation of distributed, scalable systems across multiple services Own critical execution decisions impacting performance, reliability, and maintainability Lead resolution of complex production issues with long-term fixes Enforce engineering standards, code quality, and design discipline Drive consistent execution across teams and services Build systems supporting healthcare data workflows (ingestion, validation, transformation, submission) Work on integration-heavy ecosystems, including EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835, 999, 277CA) and external payer/clearinghouse systems Mentor engineers and raise the overall engineering bar Leverage AI to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and delivery speed Build systems with a strong focus on customer impact—ensuring performance, reliability, and responsiveness directly support end-user and client needs What You Bring 12 years of experience in C#, .NET, and distributed systems Strong expertise in ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and microservices Proven experience leading execution across teams at scale Strong understanding of data systems, integrations, and performance optimization Ability to drive practical decisions and trade-offs in real systems Mandatory Experience with Azure and cloud-native architectures Proven experience building SaaS/PaaS platforms What Success Looks Like Systems that are scalable, reliable, and production-ready Strong engineering discipline and reduced rework Consistent execution quality across teams Systems that deliver consistent, reliable customer experience at scale Benefits Veradigm believes in empowering our associates with the tools and flexibility to bring the best version of themselves to work.
