Job Description: New Graduate Echo / Vascular Sonographer – PRN Location: St. George Regional Hospital | St. George, Utah Pay: Starting at $38.77/hour Schedule: ten-hour shifts (All staff rotates through weekend, on-call and holiday coverage) Launch your Echo/Vascular career with confidence. About St. George Regional Hospital 284-bed Level II Trauma Center and regional referral hospital Accredited by The Joint Commission Magnet® designated for nursing excellence Strong collaboration across imaging, cardiology, and vascular services Located in southern Utah with year-round sunshine and exceptional quality of life Why New Grads Choose St. George Strong clinical foundation: Exposure to a wide variety of Echo and Vascular studies in a regional referral environment Supportive onboarding: Work alongside experienced sonographers and physicians invested in your growth Balanced schedule: Consistent 4×10 schedule with predictable full-time hours Team culture: Shared coverage model ensures fairness and collaboration Lifestyle advantage: Affordable living, outdoor recreation, and minimal commute times in a growing, vibrant community Role Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Clinical Competency & Patient Care Demonstrate technical competence following departmental performance protocols Prioritize and schedule exams in coordination with physicians, caregivers, and patients Prepare patients by verifying identification, educating patients and families, and transporting patients as needed Perform ultrasound exams consistent with established protocols and timelines Ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality diagnostic outcomes Communicate effectively throughout the exam with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families Return patients to rooms post-exam and ensure stability and safety Documentation & Equipment Accurately document exam results and related information Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas Stock supplies and coordinate repair or supply needs through appropriate channels Minimum Qualifications ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
