SUPO, where required) Why this role matters: The Value Stream Management Trainee supports the optimization of manufacturing value streams in ICEYE’s production lines in Espoo by analyzing and validating value stream performance hands-on on the shop floor and translating observations into structured metrics and analysis. Working closely with the Operational Excellence team and the Senior Manager, Value Streams the role provides high-quality inputs for value stream development, continuous improvement, and operational decision-making, ensuring that critical assembly-specific value stream maps exist and remain up to date. The role combines strong shop floor presence and hands-on work with analytical work and support for targeted improvement initiatives to remove bottlenecks and improve flow. Your day-to-day responsibilities - Validate value stream performance on the shop floor - Spend significant time in production areas to understand actual process flow, time used and constraints - Observe, verify, and document how value streams operate in practice across production lines - Validate key performance drivers such as throughput, flow interruptions, queues, and handovers - Act as a direct link between shop floor reality and analytical performance reviews - Analyze value stream performance - Support value stream mapping and flow analysis to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities - Compare expected versus actual performance and highlight gaps impacting flow, efficiency, or quality - Support value stream development - Provide fact-based inputs to support value stream optimization initiatives - Contribute to identifying improvement opportunities that support scalability and operational efficiency - Participate in improvement efforts hands-on in the shopfloor What we’re looking for Must haves: - Master’s degree student from a relevant field - Strong observation and analytical skills with the ability to translate findings into insights - Strong interest in and willingness to learn about Lean and value stream optimization - Foundational knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methods - Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Structured problem-solving capability Nice to haves: - Hands-on exposure to shop floor operations and performance follow-up - Hands-on, structured mindset with a strong presence in operational environments Application Process - TA Screen - HM Interview - Team Interview WORKING AT ICEYE At ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
