About the Role: As a Product Manager for Maritime Domain Awareness at Planet, you’ll be responsible for building scalable AI-enabled monitoring solutions that transform satellite imagery and multi-source data into actionable maritime insights. You will own end-to-end product strategy across analytics, APIs, user workflows, and operational customer requirements in support of defense and commercial maritime missions globally. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Haarlem office 3 days per week. Impact You’ll Own: Define and drive the product vision for Maritime Domain Awareness, prioritizing capabilities like vessel detection features, upstream imagery requirements and change detection at the edge. Develop go-to-market strategies and pricing models for data tiers in coordination with Sales and Finance. High velocity development of near real-time analysis, collaborating with AI and machine learning teams, to optimize "pixel-to-insight" latency. Gather and prioritize requirements for near real time use cases, ensuring our products meet the needs of defense and commercial customers. Serve as the product and market expert for Maritime Domain Awareness, representing Planet in technical forums and high-level customer briefings. Work with compliance and security teams to ensure all products and services adhere to export control laws, national security constraints, and data privacy standards. What You Bring: 6+ years of Product Management experience, specifically with a track record of launching complex, technical products. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Understanding of satellite systems and object detection analytics Ability to understand and represent the needs of users in mission-critical, near real time environments such as defense, intelligence, or disaster response. Experience balancing technical trade-offs and customer needs in complex product ecosystems. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for explaining complex technical trade-offs to both executive and engineering audiences. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. What Makes You Stand Out: Hands-on experience with Maritime Domain Awareness in defense and commercial sectors.
