<p>DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager with an ML/AI background to lead a Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence team within the New Verticals Machine Learning (NVML) organization.</p>
<h3><strong>The NVML organization comprises three core teams:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Fulfillment, Logistics, and Inventory ML Team</strong>: This team focuses on optimizing the matching of orders with capable delivery individuals to ensure high-quality and affordable deliveries using a mix of Operations Research, Deep Learning and classical ML methods. This team also maintains a real-time understanding of in-store item availability employing advanced ML and Computer Vision algorithms. </li>
<li><strong>Consumer ML Team</strong>: Dedicated to enhancing user engagement and satisfaction through the development of solutions for personalization, discovery, growth, and search.</li>
<li><strong>Product Knowledge Graph ML Team</strong>: Responsible for creating advanced ML-driven catalog building solutions, significantly utilizing Generative AI to effectively manage and organize product information.</li>
</ul>

<p>As a Machine Learning Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of world-class ML engineers in the Fulfillment, Logistics and Inventory ML Team. Your leadership will be crucial in redefining the local e-commerce landscape through advanced ML/AI methodologies.</p>

<li>Lead and grow a team of exceptional machine learning engineers delivering on end-to-end product features with state of the art ML/AI approaches</li>
<li>Leverage cutting edge Operations Research, Forecasting and Time-series modeling techniques, Last Mile Logistics Optimization, Computer Vision, and a blend of Classical ML with Generative AI to solve real consumer problems </li>
<li>Work with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders across DoorDash to define the roadmap and vision for the team and deliver immense impact</li>
<li>Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking and teamwork</li>
<li>Build an outstanding team by coaching and empowering engineers through delegation, and applying your technical expertise to hold your team to the highest engineering standards</li>
<li>Scale the team by developing internal, and attracting top external talent</li>
</ul>
<h1><strong>We're excited about you because you have… </strong></h1>
<ul>
<li>B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent. </li>
<li>7+ years of industry experience</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience</li>
<li>Broad knowledge of machine learning with strong Operations Research and ML modeling foundation</li>
<li>Extensive experience in building user-facing product and working directly with product managers</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with teams spanning many disciplines</li>
<li>Ability to guide and grow an excellent engineering team in a rapidly changing business environment</li>
<li>Experience in leading successful application of machine learning to ranking and recommendation real-world problems is preferred </li>
