<p>The Platform Innovation team is a collection of entrepreneurial engineers that partners directly with both our VP Product Design and our Co-founder to identify strategic new business opportunities and build innovative solutions for them.</p>

<p>DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a confidential project. </p>
<p>Over the past twelve months, the Platform Innovation team, within the Launch Pad organization, has found strong momentum with an emerging product. This year, we’ve assembled a strong cross-functional, entrepreneurial team (lead Designer, lead Product Manager, and General Manager) to take the product to the next level – all that’s left is to hire an engineering leader. We're looking for a leader locally based in Toronto who can commute to the office upon hire.</p>

<li>Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions</li>
<li>Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap</li>
<li>Navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing business environment</li>
<li>Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+</li>
<li>Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking</li>
<li>Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>We're excited about you because you have… </strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, mobile) of 8+ engineers</li>
<li>8+ years of industry experience</li>
<li>Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment</li>
<li>Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization</li>
<li>Familiarity with Android app development best practices</li>
<li>Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition</li>
<li>Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback</li>
<li>Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting</li>
<li>Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve</li>
