We’re ruthlessly focused on business impact. We are a highly senior team composed of former pioneers from a variety of different robotics industries. As of 2025, DoorDash has completed 10B lifetime deliveries. We’re focused on how to do the next 10B even better.</p><h1><strong>About the Role</strong></h1><p>We are seeking a seasoned Senior Perception Engineer with a proven track record of shipping production-level autonomy systems. This is a role for a hands-on expert who can leverage their deep experience in real-world robotics to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on our last-mile delivery solution. The ideal candidate has lived through the full development lifecycle of an autonomous product and intimately understands the practical challenges and trade-offs required to build perception systems that are not just novel, but robust, reliable, and performant. You will be a key technical voice, expected to solve our most critical perception challenges by drawing upon your extensive prior experience in the field.</p><h1><strong>You're excited about this opportunity because you will…</strong></h1><ul><li>Design and deploy state-of-the-art perception algorithms for autonomous systems, enabling robust object detection, classification, and tracking.</li><li>Work extensively with various sensor modalities, including cameras, and LiDAR, to create a comprehensive understanding of the operational environment.</li><li>Develop and implement advanced sensor fusion techniques to combine data from multiple sensors, increasing the accuracy and reliability of the perception system.</li><li>Build, train, and validate deep learning models for tasks such as semantic segmentation, object detection, and behavioral prediction.</li><li>Optimize perception algorithms for real-time performance on our NVIDIA-based embedded systems (e.g., Jetson, Orin).</li><li>Collaborate closely with the planning and control teams to ensure seamless integration of perception data into the decision-making and navigation stack.</li><li>Stay at the forefront of computer vision and machine learning research, applying cutting-edge techniques to solve challenging perception problems.</li></ul><h1><strong>We're excited about you because… </strong></h1><ul><li>You hold a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
