Our managers lead by example, mentor and develop others while managing our core services. <strong>This role requires active technical contributions together with people management.</strong></p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Architecting and roadmapping our core services.</li> <li>Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers</li> <li>Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability and simplicity</li> <li>Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of the engineering management team</li> </ul> <h2><strong>About You</strong></h2> <ul> <li>You have 2+ years of experience serving in an engineering management role shipping customer-facing products.</li> <li>Proficient in Typescript, and/or Python, Java, Go, C#, or PHP</li> <li>You have managed a fullstack team of client, and backend engineers.</li> <li>You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You may be fit for this role if:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have a track record of leading productive engineering teams</li> <li>You’ve successfully recruited great people to your teams</li> <li>You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility</li> <li>You encourage a healthy work environment that’s both supportive and challenging</li> <li>You’re excited to help engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers</li> <li>You’re clear and persuasive in writing and in person</li> <li>You lead by example, by setting the right context, and by helping teammates do their best work</li> <li>You’re technical enough to ask engineers good questions about architecture and product decisions</li> <li>You’re an experienced engineering manager who has mentored other engineering leaders</li> <li>You are very organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required.</li> <li>You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>You are able to weigh several and often conflicting constraints and make rapid choices in a fast-moving and quickly-growing company.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Experience writing client libraries and SDKs.</strong></li> <li>4+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.</li> <li>Familiarity with professional software engineering best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operatio ...
