Construction Superintendent (Starship Infrastructure) - Night Shift

Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT (STARSHIP INFRASTRUCTURE) - NIGHSHIFT</strong></p> <p>As a critical member of the Starship Infrastructure team, you will supervise and lead a group of laborers and contractors to enable the build and activation of infrastructure for a variety of projects in Cape Canaveral, FL.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee and own the day-to-day site management of a fast-paced, high-impact construction project, including the responsibilities below:</li> <ul> <li>Manage a team dedicated to construction site logistics/operations, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation</li> <li>Planning, implementation, and enforcement of construction site logistics to enable broader project goals and schedule</li> <li>Management of SpaceX construction assets (trailers, portable restrooms, rental equipment, etc.)</li> <li>Implement and enforce SpaceX safety policies; drive the safety culture on the jobsite through contractor and internal partners</li> <li>Daily field coordination and conflict resolution for contractors and internal partners</li> <li>Manage site logistics, including daily deliveries, offloading, inventory, storage, and staging of SpaceX-purchased materials</li> <li>Responsible for jobsite cleanliness</li> <li>Maintain, implement, and iterate SpaceX-provided construction barricades as needed</li> <li>Maintain jobsite SWPP and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulations</li> <li>Create, enforce, and iterate on schedules for workers and subcontractors in conjunction with the engineering and project management team</li> <li>Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary</li> </ul> <li>Oversee the procurement and execution of specific construction projects as delegated by the engineering project management team</li> <ul> <li>Provide budgetary costs based upon the preliminary scope of the project</li> <li>Gather proposals from contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposals</li> <li>Develop the final cost and schedule for the sub-project, and implement controls as needed to manage cost, schedule, and scope</li> <li>Coordinate project implementation and track project status</li> <li>Coordinate with the end user and facilities team for building operations and maintenance</li> <li>Manage night shift contractors as the project work requires</li> </ul> <li>Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines, triage issues to the engineering project management team as necessary to ensure schedule and quality are adequate</li> <li>Responsible for contractor badging security through the Cape/Kennedy Space Center badging process</li> <li>When necessary (~10% of the time), this superintendent will be asked to help with the hands-on skilled trade work</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency certificate</li> <li>3+ years of professional experience in the construction or aerospace industries with experience leading or coordinating a labor force</li> <li>3+ years of hands-on experience with a trade skill falling in one of the following categories: welding, tubing, vertical building, integration, machining, fabrication, or heavy equipment operation</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Field experience in a technical field or in managing a multi-disciplinary team of contractors/laborers</li> <li>Previous experience with project management and scheduling software</li> <li>Basic proficiency with 2D or 3D modeling programs</li> <li>Knowledge of processes of juris ...
