Senior AI Engineer - Bits AI Security Analyst

We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.</em></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work closely with users, security experts, PMs, and data scientists on cutting edge AI agents that drive real value for our customers.</li> <li>Develop tools, retrieval and planning strategies, and guardrails; manage prompts/evals; design fallbacks and human‑in‑the‑loop paths.</li> <li>Collaborate with Product, Design, and partner teams to build cohesive experiences.</li> <li>Prototype and see what works well, iterate closely with our users and experts, and then ship.</li> <li>Follow the latest research on GenAI and AI agents.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related scientific field or equivalent experience.</li> <li>You’re a backend engineer with at least 4 years of professional experience (Go, Python, Java, etc.) who values code simplicity and performance.</li> <li>You have relevant work experience with LLMs, large-scale systems, machine learning, or adjacent fields. You’ve shipped software that uses LLMs to production.</li> <li>You want to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment that values its engineers.</li> <li>You are a good communicator and can drive hard technical conversations towards a pragmatic solution.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Bonus Point:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excited to work in the security domain, with an understanding of how analysts investigate threats and alerts.</li> <li>Fluency with offline/online evals for AI systems; can build reliable golden sets and automatic regressions.</li> <li>Experience scaling products in a high-growth SaaS environment.</li> </ul> <p><em>Datadog values people from all walks of life.
