About the team Roku pioneered in developing operating system for TVs. Hardware team within Roku TV NPI group is focused on building TVs with best hardware quality, reliability and enable innovation technology. We are a seasoned team of Hardware Engineers designing TV for Roku's streaming products. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your ability to work autonomously and adapt to change will be highly valued. About the role We are seeking a senior hardware design engineer of Roku TV Hardware Engineering Team in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This position will be responsible for driving hardware product development from initial design and bring up to mass production. The successful candidate will be an energetic and assertive team player who can expertly manage multiple projects and thrive during rapid development cycles. They will possess the expertise and determination to ensure the project stays on target with respect to product design, quality, schedule, and cost goals from concept to delivery. They will be expected to participate in design kick-offs and workshops with OEM partners which will involve local and international travel. Travel will be about 15% - 35%. What you will be doing Creating low cost and robust schematic designs that run the Roku TV OS, Working with Asia based OEM partners to implement these designs at all design phases through MP, working with the various groups within Roku TV Engineering to successfully launch these products. This person will also be a team member and support other developers and projects at various levels. We're excited if you have 8+ years of hardware engineering experience in embedded system design Experience with cost-sensitive, high-volume consumer electronic products Significant experience working with Asia based ODMs/OEMs/CMs Proficient with OrCAD Capture, knowledge of PADS PCB, Allegro PCB and Altium Designer Proficient in PCB layout requirements and design rules. Able to manage layouts in detail. Strong technical skills including schematic design, high speed signal propagation, power delivery, Ethernet, WIFI, USB, thermal analysis, ESD, audio subsystems Comfortable with tools such as high speed scopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, audio analyzers, and thermal chambers Excellent communication skills including the ability to present to a technical audience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Nice to Have Experience with 2-Layer PCB design Understanding of TV interfaces and consumer products Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects #LI-AK1 Our Hybrid Work Approach Roku fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment where teams work in the office Monday through Thursday.
