Our mission is to empower Instacart's Finance and Accounting organization by providing accurate, actionable, and high value data solutions. By blending business acumen with technical expertise, we build and maintain data products that streamline financial reporting, facilitate deep analysis, and support strategic decision-making.</p> <p>We are seeking an energetic technical leader to manage a growing team of analysts responsible for building the data models, pipelines, and reports that power decision-making across Instacart’s Finance and Accounting organization. </p> <p>The Finance DS team owns the quantitative backbone of Instacart’s business, including: revenue forecasting; revenue and cost data models; the source of truth for key business metrics (e.g., upsell, churn); and analytical / automation support for planning, forecasting, pricing and strategic finance initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing the vision and roadmap for how data science drives Instacart’s financial strategy, profitability, and operational excellence. </p> <p>In this role you’ll partner closely with technical and non-technical teams alike, to passionately serve the reporting needs of the business, ensuring data products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. </p> <p>Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives to support regulatory compliance, collaborate closely with external auditors, and provide seamless support to stakeholders during month-end close.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>About the Job</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design Scalable Financial Data Solutions – Develop robust data models, pipelines, and reporting systems that drive informed decision-making across teams.</li> <li>Ensure Compliance Governance – Embed “compliance by design” principles to uphold SOX standards, streamline audits, and enforce data governance.</li> <li>Champion Data Integrity – Establish rigorous validation and monitoring frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability in financial data.</li> <li>Lead Develop Talent – Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.</li> <li>Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Engineering to align data strategies with business objectives and operational needs.</li> <li>Leadership Communication – Presenting insights an ...
