<p>As a <strong>Senior Engineer I, Metrology</strong> at ASM, you will play a critical role in enabling next-generation semiconductor technology development. Working at the heart of our RD materials development labs, you will apply advanced metrology techniques to support cutting-edge ALD and Epitaxy process innovation.</p>
<p>This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with state-of-the-art characterization tools, collaborate closely with process engineers, and directly impact the development and optimization of materials for advanced node semiconductor manufacturing—all within a collaborative, fast-moving RD environment.</p>

<p><strong>What you will be working on</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Apply advanced metrology and materials characterization techniques to support ASM’s materials and process development roadmap</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with ALD and Epi process engineers to select appropriate metrology methods and support data interpretation</li>
<li>Acquire, analyze, and summarize metrology data for engineering teams and management reviews</li>
<li>Troubleshoot metrology equipment issues and partner with tool vendors to resolve hardware and software challenges</li>
<li>Develop and optimize metrology recipes and applications to improve efficiency and solve technical challenges</li>
<li>Support metrology tool uptime and lab operations in collaboration with vendors and internal teams</li>
<li>Train engineers on metrology tools, develop SOPs, and create recovery procedures for tool-down scenarios</li>
<li>Monitor equipment performance and uptime data, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives</li>
<li>Maintain LEAN 6S standards and support a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment</li>
<li>Stay current with industry trends through conferences, seminars, and technical workshops</li>

<p><strong>What we are looking for</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related engineering discipline</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with metrology techniques such as <strong>XRR, XRD, XRF, TXRF, FTIR, SPV, four-point probe, Hall effect</strong>, and defect inspection tools</li>
<li>Solid understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication</li>
<li>Strong data analysis and reporting skills; proficiency with <strong>MS Office and JMP</strong></li>
<li>Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams</li>
<li>Clear communication skills, both written and verbal</li>
</ul>

<li>Background in laboratory operations and metrology equipment maintenance</li>
<li>Programming or scripting experience for automation of data acquisition, analysis, or tool control</li>

<li>Strong practical understanding of advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes</li>
