Come join us! </span></p> </div></div><p><strong>Available Locations: Austin</strong></p> <h2>What you'll do</h2> <p>We are looking for an <strong>Engineering Manager</strong> to lead the <strong>Zero Trust Client Platform</strong> team. You will oversee the core platform for our desktop and mobile clients (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android), which protects corporate devices by securely routing traffic to Cloudflare’s global network for advanced filtering and policy enforcement.</p> <p>You will play a key role in shaping the team’s engineering strategy, working with other engineering teams, product management, and external stakeholders to implement customer-impacting features and meet the team’s ambitious goals of <strong>quality</strong>,<strong> reliability</strong>, and <strong>high-availability</strong>. You will work closely with your team to maintain the<strong> code quality</strong> and to build solid, <strong>testable, </strong>and<strong> well-documented</strong> code.</p> <p>As a manager in our team, you will be expected to <strong>lead</strong>, <strong>inspire</strong>, and <strong>foster a culture of diversity</strong>. You will communicate <strong>clearly</strong> and with <strong>empathy</strong>, and work towards building a <strong>cohesive and collaborative</strong> team. You will be expected to interact with our customers and internal stakeholders, to identify gaps and areas of improvements in our product and processes alike, and to work with your own stakeholders to transform those into <strong>innovative</strong>, <strong>actionable</strong>, and <strong>achievable</strong> <strong>solutions</strong>.</p> <p>The team predominantly uses <strong>Rust</strong> to implement high-performance networking code that runs on multiple platforms. You will be most successful in this role if you have a strong understanding of networking protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxying, etc.) and experience building and maintaining SDKs on Windows, macOS and Linux platforms.</p> <h2>Examples of desirable skills, knowledge, and experience</h2> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience leading a team of geographically distributed engineers, including hiring, coaching, and professional development</li> <li>Experience shipping multi-platform client applications and SDKs, desktop and mobile alike</li> <li>Good understanding of VPN, SASE technologies and networking protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxying, etc.) </li> <li>Excellent technical leadership skills, driving for very high-quality and low-complexity code with thorough documentation</li> <li>A passion for navigating the challenges of a fast-paced, high-growth en ...
