Engineers come to Klaviyo with experience in a variety of languages and from a number of disciplines.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>The teams in the Data Platform area work with large scale distributed systems and databases to power core Klaviyo functionality and generate data-driven insights. As an engineer in this area, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining systems that support other engineering teams across Klaviyo. You will work with a cross functional team to help design systems, write high quality code, create infrastructure, and operate large scale systems in a production environment.</p> <h2>Team Tech Stack</h2> <ul> <li>AWS</li> <li>Python</li> <li>Kubernetes</li> <li>MySQL</li> <li>Clickhouse</li> <li>Kafka</li> <li>Spark</li> <li>Flink</li> <li>Iceberg</li> <li>Terraform</li> <li>Airflow</li> </ul> <h2>Required Skills</h2> <ul> <li>Degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline</li> <li>2+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline</li> <li>Proficient in using at least one modern programming language</li> <li>Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud computing environment</li> <li>Experience with OLTP or OLAP databases</li> <li>Experience with high volume data processing and storage systems</li> <li>Experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform or a similar infrastructure as code tool</li> <li>Experience using Linux operating systems</li> <li>Able to communicate well</li> <li>Able to work with others on a team</li> <li>Able to learn continuously and adapt to a high growth environment</li> <li>Able to stick with and solve difficult problems</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p><br><p>We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process.
